Gagan Santosh is the Chairman of Kamal Group with over 35 years of experience in manufacturing and diversified industries. Under his leadership, Kamal Group has become one of Tanzania and East Africa’s leading steel manufacturer and expanded into mining, Coffee, industrial and medical gas, waste oil refinery and development of Kamal Industrial Park.He has core competencies in corporate leadership, manufacturing, services, technology industry with excellent understanding of the growing trends in the country and diversifying into other new businesses like Industrial & Medical gases, Power, Refining, Estate development and Fire systems.

Satyam Swatantra

Deputy Managing Director

Satyam Swatantra is the Deputy Managing Director in Kamal Group of companies since the last 17 years. He is dealing with main functions of finance and business development in Steels, Power, Industrial & Medical Gases, Refinery and infrastructure development. With the main focus being on Steel, he has driven the company to become one of the most trusted brands in East Africa.He also supported the business to acquire and completely turn-around a sick steel plant in Cape Town, South Africa.

He successfully developed an Industrial Estate of around 279 acres under Export Processing Zone Authority with all required amenities like roads, water and power for local manufacturing and infrastructure development. He is an advocate of empowering the individuals andsocieties through Corporate Social Responsibilities.

Vaibhav Chauhan

Group General Manager

Vaibhav Chauhan is the Group General Manager at Kamal Group, Tanzania., where he oversees the strategic direction and operational efficiency across multiple business units. With over 16 years of experience in management and operations, Vaibhav is a seasoned leader known for his ability to drive growth and enhance performance across diverse sectors.

Vaibhav’s career began in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration, where he quickly transitioned into senior management roles in various industries, including India’s top manufacturing companies like JINDAL Group, Vedanta Group, Maruti and Modi Group. At Kamal Group, he has been instrumental in streamlining operations, optimizing resource allocation, and implementing best practices that have resulted in a 20% increase in overall profitability.

He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from DIT University, India and an MBA in Operations and Strategy from Manipal University. Vaibhav’s strategic vision and hands-on approach have been crucial in navigating the company through industry changes and achieving sustained success.

Emma Mwenda

Corporate Relations Head

Emma Mwenda is currently serving as the Corporate Relations Head at Kamal Group of Companies. She is the key liaison person with Government agencies and other Local and International Institutions. She coordinates the company’s legal issues and acts as focal point of all visitors and guests. Prior to the current position, she was the Group Human Resources Manager where she was managing employer-employee relations including compensation, benefits and promotions.

Emma’s career transitioned over 24 years in various sectors including financial institutions, hospitality and manufacturing Industries holding different positions, she is recognized by her ambitious character and earnest drive-in achieving results.

She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Mzumbe University and Postgraduate degree in Finance from Strathclyde University Glasgow, Scotland.

He has built a consortium of business sectors based in UAE, expanding global presence and diversifying into pharmaceuticals, retail, hospitality and commercial real estate.
